Paekakariki Rockfall, SH1, Transit NZ (1999)

Geotechnical inspection by abseil of an area of 20 m high steep rock face affected by a significant (500 m3) rockfall onto SH1 north of Wellington. The sudden rockfall closed both lanes of the highway following a night of heavy rain. An urgent cliff face inspection, suspended above busy SH1, was carried out soon after the event to identify the extent of appropriate scaling and to design cost effective geotechnical remediation.

Glenhope to Kawatiri; Whangamoa South Realignment and Spooners Saddle Realignment, SH6, Nelson, Transit NZ (1999)

Engineering geologic reconnaissance mapping of roading realignment options to define a variety of geotechnical constraints and develop appropriate mitigation for areas traversing unstable slope, faulting and active landsliding.

Whangamoa North Deviation (SH6), Nelson, Downer Construction (1995)

Project Manager for design and construction supervision for stability enhancement of spoil piles, totaling some 100,000 m3, generated during construction of a 3.2 km highway realignment.
